Highlighting Our Impactful Community Initiatives

Supported by a generous grant from the Sam Viersen Family Foundation and housed in a historic structure donated by Fred and Kellie Harlan, the 4,070-square-foot facility will serve as a bright, welcoming hub where families can meet their new rescue pets and where the human-animal bond is celebrated every day. The center will feature 16 large dog kennels, a cheerful “catio” for adoptable cats and kittens, and dedicated quarantine spaces to ensure the health of every animal in OKCO’s care. A future on-site spay/neuter clinic and small pet supply storefront will further expand OKCO’s ability to serve the community.

Over the past three years, OKCO has placed an average of 138 pets into loving homes annually while also providing vital community programs. These include low-cost spay/neuter services, Neuterhood Watch (Trap-Neuter-Return to reduce stray cat populations), emergency medical care through the Sammy Fund, and community medical assistance for animals in need. OKCO also provides food, litter, and rehoming support to help pets stay with the people who love them.
